My research spans traffic systems, energy markets, and optimization. I completed my PhD at UC Berkeley in 2022 under Prof. Kameshwar Poolla and Prof. Pravin Varaiya, where my thesis work focused on extracting useful traffic measurements from sparse, noisy connected vehicle datasets.

Empirical Study of Connected Vehicle Data and Its Application to Traffic Measurement University of California, Berkeley, 2022

Processed and analyzed over 250 million vehicle trace datapoints to study how connected vehicle datasets can be applied to traffic flow measurement. Developed a sampling-rate-agnostic method for measuring intersection queue lengths, used Viterbi search to snap noisy GPS measurements to likely lane assignments, and aggregated sparse data to extract macroscopic fundamental diagrams.

Other Research Projects

Automated Power Exchange โ€” Developed microgrid optimization algorithms for optimal bidding strategies in automated power exchange markets. Wrote multi-agent simulations to evaluate real-time market effectiveness.

Energy Sharing Economy โ€” Investigated alternative solar power strategies including shared community investment in energy storage, peak shaving with mobile storage, and integration with rideshare programs.

Modular Greenhouse Testbed (Undergraduate, advised by Prof. Andy Packard) โ€” Built an automated greenhouse controlled with servo, fan, and heater actuators. Wrote LabVIEW software to run plant stress tests monitored via temperature and fluorescence sensors.
